Temecula, CA Homes & Real Estate - Properties for saleReal estate in Temecula is reasonably priced and considered to be a bargain compared to Orange County prices. In addition to condos, town homes, and single-family homes, the area includes properties on very large lots. Also, ranches with fruit trees, raw land, and horse properties. The region is very popular with first time home buyers, rental property investors, and luxury home buyers. Also, retirees, plus buyers who are looking for a ranch, real estate, or large acreage at an affordable price. In addition to equestrian zoned homes for sale, the city has many world-class thoroughbred breeding ranches. Most of these can be found along De Portola Rd. This is one of the few areas where you can find ranches of 30 acres or more for sale at a reasonable price. The city has good employment, but many residents commute to San Diego or Orange County for work. The 15 freeway provides easy access to these areas. Overall, the city enjoys a warm, Mediterranean climate. Above the city, the gated community of De Luz is on the Santa Rosa plateau with a much cooler climate. Properties there have a minimum of 5 acres and include spacious custom-built properties.

Temecula and its close neighbor city Murrieta, are ideal areas to buy your horse property. Prices for properties with large acreage are a fraction of what they would be in areas like Orange County. The cities have many breeding ranches. Some of these do come up for sale. Prices for horse properties start in the $300,000 range. They can go as high as several million for well established, equestrian breeding facilities and large estate homes on multiple acres. There are many properties for sale at moderate prices with average lot size of 2 to 5 acres. The average horse property for sale is in the range of $800,000 and is on a lot size of 5+ acres. The Murrieta community of La Cresta on the Santa Rosa Plateau, is also well known. It is an area that includes many rural ranches and large equestrian properties. Many of the horse properties in Temecula are located along De Portola road in wine country. There are also many properties in the eastern most section of the city, as well as in De Luz. If you are looking for a luxury property in the valley, you will find it here. There are many upscale houses with 5,000 sq ft or more that include horse facilities. Barns, riding rings, tack rooms, turn outs, and corrals are featured in many of these properties. Many also include a pool or guest house, fruit trees, and acres of grape vines.
